Converted 97dB compressor to silent for airbrushing

Last Halloween (2009) we decided to paint Tony’s face as a devil. This was done with water based makeup and Iwata airbrushes. this is about my third go at airbrushing someone’s face and my 1st go using spirit gum to stick on horns and ears. Hopefully i will have the chance to do at least a couple faces this year as well. Red, Black, Purple, white ,and yellow.

it only has to be simple, because it will only be used once.. but probably had enough to do about 100 tattoos…

anywhere, over the internet, at a store, at a low price, the lowest price possible, for airbrushing

I just bought an airbrush kit (airbrush and compressor) off of ebay. It not the best quality airbrush but I’m just a beginner so I thought it’d be a good way to practice before getting any expensive equipment.

I have newsprint paper to practice on but wasn’t sure on the type of paint I could use to practice. I bought some acrylic paint from the local art supply store but it seems to be too thick. I added some water and it sprayed but need some advice on what I can use to practice.

I want to eventually end up using auto paint to work on helmets, bikes tanks and cars.

Any/all advice from beginner or advanced airbrushers are appreciated. Best response from someone with experience wil get "best answers."

i need some cheap black paint for an airbrush, where to buy, ebays crazy expensive, 14 bucks for 4 oz. i just need crappy basic paint!
