I know that the next Abomination video was expected, but this cast had been lying around my room for the longest time and I simply just had to paint it. Came out much better than I even expected it to! Compared it to the first cast to see how far I’ve come. I noticed a shit load of self improvement haha! It really made my day. As far as Abomination, I probably won’t be able to paint him for a couple of day. My sculpting final is next week and I’m trying to hurry it along so I can get back to mask making. Hopefully I’ll be done soon. I may paint other masks in between Abomination such as Cynical Circus, Ghost, Facial Infestation, Silent Soul, and Shadow. I have one blank of each of those masks and I thought I’d test out my airbrush on some old casts and compare them to my old masks. Should be fun! Glad to get that cleared out of the way. That sure is a long title… Anyhoo, decided to make a video of me putting the finishing touches on Ghost. I still have to put a light shade of black over the corners of the screen, but I won’t make a video of that. I feel like I’ve wasted way to much time on Ghost, but my armature is broken anyways. After I finish the paintjob on Facial Infestation, I probably won’t make videos for awhile. If I do, they’ll be mostly half masks. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing though. I like the fact that you can let your hair hang in front of the mask. It gives it more character. A psychotic look to it. It’s pretty cool! I don’t know when I’ll be done with facial infestation, but I don’t think I’ll be making an airbrush video for him. I might, but most likely not. He should look cool in the end though. I have honestly no clue what to do next besides paint Facial Infestation. College starts in about 2 weeks for me, so I might prepare for that. As far as the half masks, just stay tuned for those because I’ve got so many that I would love to make. Darker creations. Frowning faces. Different monsters from desolate places. Tutorial how to use my custom made flame stencils giving Leader Class Optimus Prime a more accurate flame paint job. These are available (soon to ebay) by contacting me. This demo shows a simple part where I mask off the front hood and apply the stencil (or mask) to help create accurate flames. Flame design was created using live action images of Prime’s truck mode, tracing the lines (vectorizing) using Adobe Illustrator, then “plotted” by a great sign shop.

Haha. Anyways, there are a whole lotta things happening right now. Just got foam for my masks so now they don’t feel like latex. THANK GOD. Haha. So, all masks made from now on will have foam for EXTRA COMFORT. Yay. Moving on, I will be getting latex within this week! BOOYA! So now I will be making another cast of Abomination, as well as the extra cast of Silent Soul. I still haven’t the slightest idea of when I will be getting the inks, but as soon as I sell the first mask, the inks will be coming sooner. The inks are about 50 bucks so I’ve gotta sell both of the Silent Soul casts before I can purchase them. After I purchase the inks, I can finally paint Abomination! Mwahaha! I look forward to it. Moving on to the new mask; a clown. I thought it would be nice to change it up a bit. After all, every great mask maker has their take on clowns. However, I have a vision that cannot come to life on this particular armature. The nose is too damn big, The chin to is damn small, and there is so much to complain about, that I will refrain from doing so haha. I don’t think I’ll make the clown mask. As much as I’d like to, I just wouldn’t be happy with my sculpt. I wouldn’t have full control of the form. So, I’ll probably just sculpt random stuff …

I have big plans for the mask itself. I won’t just be using paint on this mask. I’ll be using some other materials to make him look rustic and worn. In this video, I show the things that I would usually show in two separate videos. The entire molding process + the slip casting of the mask. I will apply the other layers of latex off camera. The mask needs another layer or so, and It’s set. Another day or two and I’ve got myself a new Shadow. Looking forward to that day. In other news, got the other sculpt sitting in my room now.
